Smith, Devine & Case Are Friday Winners at TransTec Halloween Classic 50
Smith & Devine won in Box and No Box, while Case won the Dart Big M Shootout.

The spirit of the spooky season was felt during the Friday, Oct. 13, 2023 running of the TransTec Halloween Classic 50 presented by Harland Sharp at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.

The day will be especially memorable for winners of the Friday Box, Friday No Box and Dart Big M Shootout.

The final round of eliminations in Friday Box put the spotlight on Zach Smith of Grafton, Ohio and Dennis Rock of Painsville, Ohio. Smith went to the Summit Motorsports Park Winner’s Circle with an .015 reaction time and a 4.70 elapsed time over Rock, who gave him a good race with an .029 reaction time and a 4.67 elapsed time.

In Friday No Box, Tim Devine of Brookpark, Ohio, saw the tree to the tune of .009, and he trapped a 6.11 to defeat Jon Lowery of Norwalk, Ohio, who was -.009 red at the hit.

The highly anticipated Dart Big M Shootout also was contested on Friday, Oct. 13, 2023, and it was open to any racer using Dart cylinder heads and/or intake manifolds and had the corresponding decals. Kenny Case of Wakeman, Ohio, and Randy Nellis of Muskegon, Michigan, made it to the final round of eliminations, and Case took the win with an .035 reaction time and a 6.51 after Nellis went just -.002 red.
