A&A Transmission started drag racing in 1976. Our shop began as a 1,000 square foot garage heated with a wood burning stove. By 1980, we decided that there was a need for a high-performance transmission shop to serve drag racers on a national scale. We have now progressed to a 30,000 square foot facility with some of the finest equipment available to better serve your needs. In the beginning, we offered rebuilt street and race transmissions. We then developed manual valve bodies, aluminum drums, low-gear sets and needle-bearings for various components within the transmission. We now have progressed to a state-of-the-art TorqueFlite Trans-brakes and other components for the new millennium racers. New components are constantly under development; there is no "standing still" in our business. We use a variety of cars as test beds for our parts and components. Most research and development is race-proven before it is offered to you as a customer. A third generation transmission builder, Marco learned the business from his dad Joe. He started working with his dad disassembling transmission cores while still in junior high school. In high school Marco began building transmissions about the same time he started drag racing. This set a pattern that would continue to this day. Marco’s work as a performance transmission builder would not just start with racing, but would grow along with his own racing career. Shortly after graduating from Youngstown State University, he recognized a chance in the drag racing world. More powerful engines and better race cars were combining to overwhelm the rebuilt junkyard transmissions racers had been using for years. Soon, serious racer across the country recognized what local racers already knew: the best automatics were coming from Abruzzi.
Being an accomplished fast bracket racer, Marco realized that just like the transmission business of years before, the converters available weren’t keeping up with the changes in drag racing. The big horsepower engines that were becoming prevalent at all levels of drag racing required a different approach to converter design than the industry had been using. Concerned that his customers weren’t able to get the quality converters they needed, Marco added a state of the art converter shop to his growing business. This led to an extensive testing program that Abruzzi Racing Transmissions and Converters continues to this day, a program that has resulted in the most consistent, durable, and fastest performance converters on the market today.

Marco’s Pizza founder Pasquale “Pat” Giammarco moved to the U.S. from Italy when he was nine years old and grew up working in his family’s pizzeria. He later embarked on a mission to make high quality pizza on a larger scale using a secret sauce recipe that he developed and refined with his father.

We started racing Jr Dragsters in 1992. We built our own chassis and engine then and still do today as we now have a new generation of drivers. Robert Pickens is the fabricator/welder. Along the way, he started making and selling custom Jr Dragster headers and today we are the leading manufacturer of Jr Dragster headers in the world. We are best known for our beautiful chrome headers. If you have bought a new engine from Nic Woods Racing, Craws Racing, Caheely Performance, Jim Rogers Racing, among others, you probably got a PMW header with it. Ryan Pickens is the machinist who creates all those fancy milled aluminum parts. Timeless Timbers is proud to sponsor the Edwin McGlumphy memorial race. Ed was a true racer. He started as a 16 year old kid racing on the streets of Akron. His 1st big purchase was a 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger with a 340 that is still owned by his wife Vernelle. He drove the car daily, street raced and had an occasional time at the track. Ed would drive to the track, swap the rear gears, race into the night, and then switch gears and drive home. Eventually he turned the car into a pure track car. Ed torched the quarter panels to fit bigger tires and installed 5.13 gears. The car stayed in this configuration until the 2000s only being brought out for July 4th burnout shows. Ed decided to return the car to original and a 10 year process started. The car is now original and driven on special occasions. Ed got the bug in 2014 to start racing again. He started racing his wife's 2008 dodge Charger Superbee. 13s in the quarter mile was not fast enough so he added a supercharger. Low 12s wasn't fast enough either so he bought his 2015 Dodge Charger Hellcat. With a personal best of 10.112 the Hellcat was finally fast enough. He began racing in every class possible at all the local Mopar events. Most events he ran in 3 or 4 classes. Ed won the gen3 event at Dragway 42 and placed 2nd multiple times at Mopar Nationals and other events. Timeless Timbers was founded by Ed. He had a passion for family and treated his customers as if they were family. Timeless Timbers is still a family owned and operated business ran by his wife Vernelle, son Duane, and grandson Dwight. Our focus is to give the customer a fully custom log home, log cabin and log furniture.
