Given the potential for up to 3 inches of rainfall through Thursday, coupled with an excessively wet spring and summer, we have made the decision to close Linder’s Lot for the 34th Annual Ames Performance Pontiac Nationals. As a result, move-in will be as follows: Thursday, July 17 8 a.m.: Swap meet vendors will move in via the State Route 601 Ohio CAT Gate. We will credential and park swap meet vendors as quickly as possible. 3 p.m.: Race cars will move in via the State Route 601 Ohio CAT Gate and immediately park. Once parked, racers and crew can go underneath the Ohio CAT Grandstands to purchase credentials. NOTE: There is no overnight holding lot. Friday, July 18 8 a.m.: Swap meet Vendors will move-in via the State Route 601 Ohio CAT Gate. We will credential and park swap meet vendors as quickly as possible. 8 a.m.: Race cars will move-in via the State Route 601 Ohio CAT Gate. 8 a.m.: Car Show will enter through the State Route 18 Summit Gate. 8 a.m. Camping & Motorhome Guests will enter as advertised through the State Route 18 Wilson’s Gate. R&R Auto Body and DeCerbo Construction are bringing Rumble Wars Extreme 8, a Pro Mod points series to Summit Motorsports Park.

R&R Auto Body and DeCerbo Construction are bringing Rumble Wars Extreme 8, a Pro Mod points series to Summit Motorsports Park.  The series kicks off at the upcoming Cavalcade of Stars presented by Budweiser, Saturday, May 19, 2018 and will be contested at the following four additional races.

    Kelly Services Night Under Fire…Saturday August 11, 2018
    Honeywell Garrett NMCA All-American Nationals…Aug 24-26, 2018
    Summit Racing Equipment Shakedown at the Summit presented by Mickey Thompson Tires…September 14-16, 2018.

Participants just need to show up, pay the entry fee and we will track your points.  One point for every round win.  The first four races of the series, will be contested on the 1/8th mile and will follow the NMCA Pro Mod rules.  For Shakedown at the Summit, to stay consistent with the Shakedown Pro Mod rules, the race will be contested on the ¼ mile.

Entry fee for the first three races will be $200.  Two qualifiers and the top 8 will compete for a share of the $7,000 purse.  Winner takes home $3,500; RU $1,500; Semi’s $500 and ¼ $250.

For the NMCA and Shakedown events, racers will pay the class fee, follow the event’s Pro Mod rules and race format, and points will be collected, one point for every round win.

At the end of the season, a champion will be crown and recognized at the annual 2018 Edelbrock Banquet of Champions next January.
