NORWALK, Ohio – A stroll through the auto show March 15-17, 2013 at the Cleveland IX Center may catch you dreaming about the life of the mystery driver who wins a McIlvain dragster in the 2013 Super 64 runoff.
Testing and tuning at the Spring Warmup…signing up for the Finish Line Club in the Mr. Gasket $53,100 Super Series at Summit Motorsports Park…wrenching like crazy…going rounds…collecting points…your’re in the top 16 of your class!...It’s the Super 64 at the 40th Annual K&N Halloween Classic presented by Harland Sharp…and the frolicking crowd goes wild…going rounds…going rounds…you’re in the runoff…you won…Winner’s Circle…hugs!...kisses!...the ice water splash!
Oh, what fun!
The first step is to keep an eye on the prize.
While you’re browsing at the IX Center, take a photo of the McIlvain 2013 swing arm monoshock dragster, which includes these associate sponsors in the fabulous team project:
• AFCO – Shocks, springs, and radiator.
• Riggeals’s Performance Fiberglas – Fiberglas parts.
• Mickey Thompson – Four tires.
• Moser Engineering – Axles.
• R&R Auto Body – One color paint.
• Summit Racing Equipment – Master cylinder.
• Weld Racing – Four wheels.
• Pro-Werks & Stiletto – Spindles, steering arms, pinion, steering box.
Then why not pin the photo to your Facebook.com page, or print a copy and hang it over your favorite tool box.
She’s a beauty, isn’t she?
Another sweet ride at the Summit Motorsports Park display at the IX Center is Garry Fleenor’s Fleenor Racing Transmission dragster, painted in January by R&R Auto Body in the Paint My Ride program in the 2012 Mr. Gasket $50,000 Super Series.
Garry Fleenor won the Paint My Ride program by gathering the best stats in elapsed time versus dial in, and reaction time over the season.
Bill Bader Jr., president of Summit Motorsports Park, called Garry Fleenor’s dragster, “Drop-dead gorgeous.”
We can’t wait to see these cars shimmer under the dragstrip lights.
Just imagine pulling on a racing suit, gloves and helmet, crawling into one of these beauties, billowing the burnout from the water box, motoring up to the tree, and ripping down the quarter mile!
