High School Nationals are May 5, 2013.

NORWALK, Ohio – Two keys to rev up a great time Sunday, May 5, 2013 at the 25th Annual High School Nationals at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio include:Upper Sandusky brought a couch.
  •    Enlisting people who know how to win points for the team.
  •    Arriving in a caravan of Facebook friends.

So, who reigns as your high school’s most wise and persuasive leader?

Can that person coordinate your school’s talent, spirit and automotive savvy from the least to the greatest to bring home the trophy in 2013?

Last year’s champion schools were Vanguard, 13 points; EHOVE, 12 points; and Lorain County Joint Vocational, eight points.

The High School Nationals provides a great place for the obviously fastest car in the school’s parking lot to prove it. Drag racing is safer than street racing. Plus, every run receives an E.T. slip, showing the car number, dial-in, elapsed time, speed, and more.

Some high school students raced Junior Dragsters since they turned eight-years-old. Others race their street cars every week at Summit Motorsports Park. Maybe they’ll tell you how.Every piece, every screw must be in the correct place.

Also, think outside the walls of the school building. Whose parents pack the meanest tailgating party for the game? Don’t reinvent the Dawg Chow. Everybody chip in for food and bring them!

And do you have fabulous team T-shirts? So much to coordinate; so little time.

Some ways to earn points include:
  •    Racing!
  •    Smokey Burnout Contest.
  •    Car Cram.
  •    Ugliest Working Wreck.
  •    Best Appearing Team, and more.

Last year the Edelbrock Challenge proved who could rebuild a Holley carburetor the fastest. Those guys were good!

This year, meet with representatives from Jostens, learn about your car and racing, enjoy a pound of Velvet ice cream for a buck, and have a great time!
