Mad River Harley-Davidson rumbles the North Coast.

NORWALK, OhioMad River Harley-Davidson roars to Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio as a new sponsor with creative ideas for fun and sweet rides ready for the road.

“We’re really excited,” said Jessica Benfer, operations manager of Mad River Harley-Davidson, 5316 Milan Road, Sandusky, Ohio. “We looked into (sponsoring) last year, but we couldn’t get it done before the season started. We think it’s the perfect partnership because of the demographics of it. Customers who attend the races are the same as our customers.”

Mike and Franscene Davis, owners of Mad River Harley-Davidson, also own Adventure Harley-Davidson, 1465 State Route 39 NW, Dover, Ohio, on the Web at adventureharley.com, and Rubber City Harley-Davidson, 1120 Main Street, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, on the Web at rubbercityharley.com.

Is there a Fat Boy in your future?

Mad River sells new and used motorcycles, Jessica Benfer said.

At the dealerships, certified Harley-Davidson technicians work on the motorcycles in state-of-the-art shops with all of the current tools, dyno and up-to-date information from Harley-Davidson Motor Company, Jessica Benfer said.

Also, a parts department deepens the service to customers, while in the store men, women and children find authentic Harley-Davidson clothing, gifts and motorcycle accessories.

Each store offers a unique page on Facebook.com, with mascots, photographs, contests and events.

For example, the Rubber City Facebook page posted a photo of a three wheeler pulling a camper. To view the photo click on the winning caption: Business in the front, party in the back. This Fat Boy is on the Web at Mad River Harley-Davidson

Deuce, the mascot for Mad River Harley-Davidson, pops up in photos all over that Facebook page.

These Harley-Davidson stores keep the calendar moving with creative year-round activities. For example, they just finished a Hogs and Kisses benefit dinner for Valentine’s Day.

Mad River Harley-Davidson opened in May of 2010 and employs 40 of the 150 people among the three dealerships, Jessica Benfer said. An employee of one of the other dealerships thought up the name as a spin-off from the Mad River Railroad.

“It has history to it locally,” Jessica Benfer said.

At Summit Motorsports Park, Mad River Harley-Davidson signs and public address announcements at each race will point racers and fans to the Sandusky dealership, Jessica Benfer said.

Also, Mad River Harley-Davidson plans to set up a merchandise tent at events such as the Auto Plus Night Under Fire and Wanda AkzoNobel Blue Suede Cruise, Jessica Benfer said.
