With an eye on the weather forecast, Track Manager Evan Bader announced that the final Edelbrock Super Series race of the year would offer one time trial rather than two on Aug. 17, 2024 at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.
It was a good call considering how important it was to see this event through completion as racers were vying for valuable points while wading through some incredibly tough competition.
Points positions will be finalized and champions will be announced soon.
Frank Brank of Avonmore, Pennsylvania and Gus Dowdell of Norton, Ohio, dialed in their dragsters and dove in for the Edelbrock Super Pro final round of eliminations, and Brank won with a 4.58 to Dowdell’s 4.86.
In Edelbrock Pro, Josh Adkins of Sandusky, Ohio, arrived at a 7.48 to secure the win over Jon Lowery of Norwalk, Ohio, who stopped the clocks at 5.84.
Riders Matt Short of Brunswick, Ohio, and David Liguori of Newton, Falls, Ohio hopped onto their motorcycles and hauled down the quarter-mile in Wiseco/Cycle Tech Super Bike, and Short locked up the win with a 7.84 to Liguori‘s 7.77.
Nick Hastings of Marion, Ohio and Joe Galenek of Valley City, Ohio were focused for the Edelbrock Sportsman Delivered on Time by TFC Transportation final round of eliminations, and Hastings, a multi-time winner, did it again, this time with a 12.19 to Galanek’s 12.17.
In Edelbrock Stock, Chas Lang lined up alongside Denny Nyegran of Grafton, Ohio for the final round of eliminations, and Lang won with a 15.49 to Nyegran’s 11.14.
The NHRA Junior Street final round of eliminations saw Landon King of Port Clinton, Ohio and Ethan Gates of Republic, Ohio steer down track, and on the top end, King took the win with a 9.31 to Gates’ 10.42
In Bear Motorsports Advanced Junior Dragster presented by Wiseco, Roman Iocoangeli of Monroe, Michigan and Leah Verner of Carleton, Michigan muscled their way to a 7.92 and 7.91 respectively, and Iocoangeli went to the winner’s circle with a slightly better reaction time and the 7.92.
Brayden Baehr of Norwalk, Ohio and Tyler Jacobs of North Ridgeville, Ohio recorded comparable reaction times in the final round of eliminations in Bear Motorsports Intermediate Junior Dragster presented by Wiseco, and Baehr pulled off the win with a 9.00 to Jacobs’ 8.98.
In an all-family Bear Motorsports Novice Junior Dragster presented by Wiseco final round of eliminations, Callie Moreland of Pioneer, Ohio motored to a 12.45 and the win over Kendall Moreland, also of Pioneer, Ohio, who turned in an 11.83.
