While the start of this year's Lingenfelter Performance Engineering Wednesday Fun Night program was delayed as a $1.6 million track reconstruction project was wrapping up at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio, it fires up at 5 p.m. May 23.
Awaiting winners in High School, Stock, Truck and Van, Modified Stock, Motorcycle and Super Stock categories are trophies very cleverly made of engine parts by the program's supportive sponsor, Lingenfelter Performance Engineering.
Comparable trophies will also be awarded to winners in those categories on the first Lingenfelter Performance Engineering Wednesday Fun Night of each month through Oct. 3, as well as to winners of the Nostalgia Drag Racing League categories at the Lingenfelter Performance Engineering Blue Suede Cruise, July 13-15, winners of Nostalgia Pro Stock at Kelly Services Night Under Fire, Aug. 11 and winners of Outlaw Nostalgia Pro Stock and Nostalgia Gas at the Summit Racing Equipment Shakedown at the Summit presented by Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels, Sept. 13-16, all at Summit Motorsports Park.
As the official performance, engineering and tuning center of Summit Motorsports Park, Lingenfelter Performance Engineering will be boasted on specially-made signage and in displays throughout the park, and the company will post contingency for racers.
Tickets to take part in Lingenfelter Performance Engineering Fun Night cost $11 for racers or spectators, $3 for children ages 6-12 and $20 for Super Stock racers. Summit Motorsports Park is at 1300 State Route 18, Norwalk, Ohio. For information, please call 419-668-5555 or visit www.summitmotorsportspark.com.
