With winter wrapped, engines will wind for the 38th Annual Spring Warm-Up this weekend, April 13-14, at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.
During the two-day event, drivers will be able to test and tune, register for the season-long Edelbrock Super Series, which offers thousands of dollars in cash and prizes, and receive an NHRA chassis inspection.
They can also have their wheels fitted with tires free of charge with the option to purchase them through the Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels Try and Buy program, and take part in a swap meet with everything from hubcaps to high horsepower engines.
The event, which traditionally welcomes hundreds of racers, sets in motion an action-packed season of racing that includes the 13th Annual Cavalcade of Stars presented by Budweiser, which is celebrated as the largest NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event in the country, May 17-19, Super Summit, which features fun-runs and cruise-ins, June 7-8, the 13th Annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals, where Top Fuel Dragsters, Funny Cars and fireworks will fly, June 20-23, 18th Annual Lingenfelter Performance Engineering Blue Suede Cruise, July 12-14, 7th Annual Monster Mopar Weekend, July 26-28, 28th Annual Ames Performance Pontiac Nationals, Aug. 1-4, 42nd Annual Kelly Services Night Under Fire, Aug. 9-11, 18th Annual Honeywell Garrett NMCA All American Nationals, Aug. 22-25, the Cometic Gasket Halloween Classic XLVI presented by Harland Sharp, Oct. 12-20 and so much more.
“After unrelenting cold, snow and gray skies, the Spring Warm-Up is always a welcome friend,” said Bill Bader Jr., president of Summit Motorsports Park. “It marks the end of winter as well as the start of an action-packed season of speed. It’s finally time to go racing!”
Swap meet vendors may set up at 6 a.m. and gates open at 8 a.m., with swap meet and track-time scheduled for 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
For one day, admission to test and tune, shop the swap meet or spectate is $15 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12, free for children ages 5 and younger. For two days, admission to test and tune, shop the swap-meet or spectate is $25 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and younger.
A 20’ X 35’ swap-meet space costs $35 for one day or $65 for two days which includes one adult entry.
