Hastings Nails It; Poole and Bear Shine at NHRA Summit Racing Series National Championships

After an action-packed season at Summit Motorsports Park, drivers and riders who finished high enough in Accel Super Series points represented the park as a team at the 30th Annual NHRA Summit Racing Equipment Racing Series North Central Division Finals at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indiana in mid-September. There, they earned the team title — and the respect of many — after duking it out against drivers from eighteen other tracks.

Because Nick Hastings earned the event win in Sportsman, Rick Poole earned the event win in Super Pro Bike and Chris Bear won the Super Pro Sunoco Race of Champions, they advanced to the NHRA Summit Racing Series National Championships, Nov. 12-15, 2015 at Auto Club Raceway in Pomona, California, where they rubbed elbows with professional Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle drivers and riders who were concurrently competing in the Auto Club NHRA Finals as part of the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series.

By the time the dust had settled, Hastings, the park’s 2015 Accel Sportsman Delivered on Time by TFC Transportation champion, had found victory in Summit Sportsman upon out-running Adam Tabor in the final, making him the 2015 NHRA Summit Racing Series Sportsman national champion. Meanwhile, Poole, the park’s 2015 Wiseco/Cycle Tech Super Bike champion, was runner-up in Summit Bike, and Bear, the park’s 2015 Quick Time Super Pro champion, was runner-up in Summit Super Pro.

Hastings, Poole, Bear and the rest of the winning and wonderful Summit Motorsports Park team will be celebrated during Summit Motorsports Park's 42nd Annual Accel Banquet of Champions, January 15-17, 2016 at Sawmill Creek Resort in Huron, Ohio.

“Nick Hasings, Chris Bear and Rick Poole each made it to the finals in their respective class,” said a beaming and blissful Bill Bader, Jr., president of Summit Motorsports Park. “If that doesn't make a statement about Summit Motorsports Park racers, I don't know what does. I'm proud of all three of them, especially Nick. He's a fine young man, and an incredibly talented racer.”
