Wallin Wins Trick Flow Ultimate Performer Race at Halloween Classic

Adding to all of the action and activities of the Cometic Gasket Halloween Classic presented by Harland Sharp, Oct. 22-29 at Summit Motorsports Park was the Trick Flow Specialties Ultimate Performer.

The free race within a race, which was contested on the final day of the event, put the spotlight on racers who use Trick Flow Specialties cylinder heads and/or a Trick Flow Specialties intake manifold.

Among those standing out was Summit Motorsports Park Edelbrock Super Pro driver Chris Wallis of Akron, Ohio.

In a McIlvain Race Cars-built dragster he won in 2015 as part of the McIlvain Race Cars Super 64 at Summit Motorsports Park, he advanced all the way to the final of the Trick Flow Specialties Ultimate Performer race, where he recorded an .019 reaction time and ran 4.90 on his 4.91 dial to defeat Cody Bayus, who also ran quicker than his dial in his dragster.

This win coupled with Wallis’ other wins is proof that he has a powerful powerplant consisting of a methanol-sipping 582 cubic-inch Chevy engine built by V’s House of Horsepower and topped with Trick Flow Specialties 365 heads and intake, and his Biddle Performance-built Powerglide has no problem transferring that power to the pavement.

“It’s always gratifying to park in the winner’s circle at Summit Motorsports Park,” said Wallin. “I want to thank Trick Flow for giving us the opportunity to run a bonus race. Their products are second to none, and being able to represent them to my full potential is what I set out to do.”

For his efforts, Trick Flow Specialties rewarded Wallin with $500 in addition to a $500 Summit Racing Equipment giftcard and a custom-designed trophy which resembles a cylinder head.

The program also afforded $250 and a $250 Summit Racing Equipment giftcard to runner-up Bayus, and semifinalists received $100 and a $100 Summit Racing Equipment giftcard.

"The trophy is one-of-a-kind," said Wallin. "I appreciate Trick Flow making a unique piece for the winner. It will look cool in my collection."
