Halloween Classic XLIII presented by Harland Sharp Updates

Friday October 21

3:30pm Update
Due to the rain, today's racing has been cancelled.  The Friday Abruzzi Transmissions 'Box Super Roller' and Foghorn Designs 'No Box Super Roller' will be completed in the tent around 5pm.  Immediately following the lottery, Trainwreck will perform!

Pumpkin carving is underway now until 5pm.

This morning we are currently in a holding pattern.  The forecast indicates the rains will subside by late morning.  So in the meantime, submit your Trick Flow Limericks in the Budweiser Guest Service or bring them directly to race control so Evan and Ron can read them to determine who will be our next resident poet!

As soon as the opportunity permits, the R&R Auto Body Pageant of Excellence will take place.  From 2-4pm everyone is welcome to carve pumpkins in the tent.  These pumpkins will be on display tomorrow through the park!

After the races tonight, Trainwreck will perform in the fellowship tent special thanks to Racing RVS, McIlvain Race Cars and Empty Pockets Promotions.

Thursday October 20
The first official day of the Halloween Classic presented by Harland Sharp saw blue skies, a welcome glow of sunshine and lots of folks sporting their ‘summer attire’.

Racers were given a time trial and then the Callies Performance Products ‘Box’ and Fleenor Transmissions ‘No Box’ gamblers races were run and finished just before the rain arrived.  The rain continued through the night and spoiled our racing plans on Thursday.  However, Ron Huntley and Evan Bader entertain everyone by reading all the Mickey Thompson ‘Token Jokes’.  Ball Racing was our winner.  They won a set of Mickey Thompson rear slicks!

The Abruzzi Transmissions ‘Box Super Roller’ and Moser Engineering ‘No Box Hi Roller’ were ran to completion even in the rain!  Racers met in the fellowship tent for a couple of hours as the race was run to completion in a lottery format.  Not the preferable method, but in a pinch it works.

Dornan Sales & Services and Sweitzer.com found another way to entertain our racers and fans for a few hours by having a R/T pit vehicle race.

Tuesday October 18
Monday evening official kicked off the Halloween Classic presented by Harland Sharp week long festivities.  Cameo at the Creek Pizza supplied the pizza and Miller’s Super Valu/Moto Lenz Photos sponsored the ever popular Candy Corn Hole Tournament.

Sixteen teams battled for the top honors.  Jim and Mike Nole “Nole Racing” (Beavercreek OH) defeated Cindy & Tom Eck “Eck Racing”, Paul & Robert Campbell “Campbell Racing” and Josh Brown & Mark Moreland “Corn Ballers” before meeting up with Nick Moss & Kevin Ribble “River Drivers” (Amherst OH).

The River Drivers crushed Eric Wieszkowiak & Mike Szaly “Corn Kings”, Nick Bowman & Niki Thomas “The Nicks”, and Bryan Workman & Chad Mitchell “Hole Shots” to get into final round.

Nole Racing made their first-final round appearance in the Candy Corn Hole Tournament.  Unfortunately, they had to face off against a veteran team that had already seen success at this event.  Nole Racing gave their best efforts, but in the end The River Drivers outscored them to take the honors.

Graphics Inc Signs & Mike’s Collision provided The River Drivers with a set of corn hole boards decorated with this year’s event logo.

The next scheduled activity for this week begins Wednesday Morning at 8am, when racing official kicks off.  Each Classic Main Event class will receive one time trial. Fleenor Racing Transmissions No Box and Callies Performance Box ‘All Run’ gamblers races will begin immediately following the one time trial.
