Trainwreck Country Band to Crank Out Hits at Halloween Classic

While Trainwreck Country Band has cranked out countless country and classic rock covers at venues across Ohio, Pennsylvania and Kentucky this year, they’ll take the stage during the Halloween Classic XLIII presented by Harland Sharp, Oct. 16-23, 2016 at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.

It will be the second year in a row that the band, featuring Chuck Hall, Brad Learn, Chris Rossvanes and Lou Greco — who also will be racing his ’70 GTO Judge — has performed as part of the week-long Halloween party.

“The racing community has really embraced our band, and we’re very fortunate to be able to do this at Summit Motorsports Park,” said Greco, who added that the band is in its eleventh year.

When asked which songs have been most frequently requested by fans as of late, he says they’ve been everything from AC/DC songs to Meghan Trainor songs, and while he admits that the latter is surprising considering his band is known for its country and classic rock, they roll with it.

“Our goal is to give everyone something so that they have a good time, even if it means we have to stray from what we usually play,” said Greco. “We want them to come back to see us perform.”

One fan the band may want to watch out for is Summit Motorsports Park president Bill Bader, Jr., as he has threatened to join the band on stage for a bit of “Rhinestone Cowboy” by Glen Campbell. Upon hearing that, Greco was quick to say that “singing is definitely not Bader’s forte” and that he would “likely perform the song with him.”

“Despite having, on more than one occasion, performed epic morning shower concerts, I fear that Lou may be correct,” deadpanned Bader, Jr.

Here’s to hoping the band doesn’t decide to give Bader, Jr. a cowbell or a tambourine in addition to a microphone.

Catch the performance by Trainwreck Country Band, which is presented by Racing RVs, McIlvain Race Cars and Empty Pockets Promotions, after racing on Oct. 21, 2016.
